The Story
NextGen Bank, a fast-growing digital bank, faced a critical growth plateau. Despite having a feature-rich mobile application, user engagement was stagnating, and customer support was inundated with complaints about a confusing interface. Their development teams were also struggling, slowed down by inconsistent UI components and a widening gap between design mockups and the final coded product. The lack of a unified design language was creating a fragmented user experience and hindering their ability to innovate at the speed the market demanded.
They recognized the need for a strategic partner who could not only redesign their app but also establish a scalable design foundation for future growth. The objective was two-fold: deliver an intuitive, best-in-class user experience to re-engage their user base and create a robust design system to accelerate future development cycles.
What Did Medha Soft Do
Medha Soft was engaged as the end-to-end UX/UI and design system partner. We deployed a cross-functional team of UX researchers, UI designers, and frontend engineers who embedded with NextGen Bank's product team. Our approach centered on creating a user-validated design and a "single source of truth" design system that bridged the gap between design and engineering.
User-Centric Discovery & Research
We began with comprehensive user research, including user interviews and usability testing of the existing app. This data-driven approach allowed us to identify key pain points and map out optimized user flows for critical tasks like transfers, payments, and account management.
High-Fidelity Prototyping & Validation
Based on our research, we created a high-fidelity, interactive prototype in Figma. This prototype was rigorously tested with real users, allowing us to validate the new design's usability and make data-informed refinements before any code was written.
Design System Implementation
We built a scalable design system from the ground up, creating a comprehensive library of reusable components in both Figma and React. This included design tokens, component documentation, and clear usage guidelines, creating a shared language for designers and developers.
